Print Improvements Are Possible

Have you ever tried to nail up a board with a tack and a shoe or cook without measuring the ingredients? In order to do a job you must have the correct tools. This is also true when trying to print papers, articles and other information. Without the correct materials, your pint jobs are not the best they can be.
The most important part of printing is selecting the proper paper and inks. Printer makers sell inks designed to work best with their printers. They also sell papers designed to work with their inks. The best paper and ink to use are the ones that are designed to work with your printer.
Combining the wrong paper and inks can cause stripes or smears across the images. If you don’t buy the paper packaged by your printer company, make sure what you do buy is compatible with the ink that you are using. If the paper you are using is not compatible with your ink, the results are some poor images or misfed paper.
Another important factor in getting the best image possible is cleaning the printer nozzles and readjusting the print heads regularly. By moving the printer a lot the print heads can be moved out of alignment. The nozzles get clogged through normal use of the printer. Clogging can result in lost color and banding on the images.
If you are more interested in printing photos than documents, there are special dyes and paper for that purpose. This is a little more tedious and expensive than document printing, but it is possible to do at home. A combination of the correct ink or dye and paper can result in long lasting memories. Below are some tips in making this happen.
There are three types of printers capable of printing photos, inkjet, dye-sublimation and a thermal dye transfer. The inkjet printer is the only one to use cartridges. Most of these printers contain the normal black, red, yellow and blue colors. To print a photo, the regular cartridges have to be replaced with specialized photo inks.
Specialized inkjet photo printers can accommodate more ink cartridges, some as many as eight. These can be adjusted to produce better photos, and do a great job printing text. In printing photos, as in text printing, the paper and inks must coordinate or you will not get quality photos.
The dye sub and thermal dye transfer printers work only with specific papers and dye films. These are sold together in a package that contains enough dye to match the number of photo pages provided. A potential problem with these printing systems is that dust or a fingerprint on the paper when fed through the printer will show up on the print.

| Save Money…Refill Or Replacements? |
| Buying ink for your inkjet printer can be expensive. A lot of printer manufacturers make most of their profits from the sale of "consumable" ink for their printers. Replacing the inkjet cartridges bought from the manufacturer can cost an average of $35 to $40 per cartridge. You can reduce this expense by refilling the cartridges instead of replacing them. more |
